For his debut EP Self Portrait, Hong Kong artist and C AllStars member SoulJase explores personal identity through five songs. Photographer Riddick Douglas Ning created a series of images to accompany the release. Each photograph features a different flower selected for its symbolic meaning. Ning responded to the emotional tone and narrative of each song by pairing it with a flower whose traditional language reflects its themes.
The resulting visuals form a quiet dialogue between music and image. The five flowers serve as emotional anchors, offering symbolic interpretations that deepen the listener’s understanding of the EP. Through this approach, Ning created a visual counterpart to Jase’s introspective project, presenting a photographic interpretation of identity, emotion and self-exploration.
