Colour has been dissected into names, codes and chemical formulas ever since humans developed the ability to perceive it. Categorisation helps us distinguish one colour from another. We continue to search deeper and deeper into the realm of colour, even when we have reached a point where the differences between two shades can barely be seen.

Throughout history, colour has been linked with shapes, emotions and symbolic meanings. It has naturally evolved within different cultures. Yet, at some point, we stopped feeling colour and began thinking about it instead. Red becomes a warning. Green becomes a representation of nature.

Creating images through the inspiration of colour is a fascinating experience because photography and colour share similar structures. Images are broken down into pixels and determined by shutter speed and aperture. This rational mindset makes photography systematic and practical. However, photography is not defined solely by numbers, just as colour is not defined only by labels and formulas.
